Back in Time on MV Deutschland

In times when the main cruise companies are intent on building even larger ocean liners to carry more and more passengers, it was a welcome change to visit the Deutschland. Stepping on board the Deutschland is like going back in to the golden age of sea voyages. Crystal chandeliers, the Imperial red double height ballroom, wooden panelling, marble, brass, fine antiques and paintings show what it was like to cruise in a bygone age. There is a feel of spaciousness, peace and quiet throughout the ship, something not always found on the modern cruise ship.

There is an excellent choice of restaurants on board: the Lido Terrace with a garden feel is the perfect place to take coffee or afternoon teas. The Lili Marleen salon is an intimate lounge where guests can take pre-dinner cocktails before dining in the Restaurant Berlin or the Four Seasons Restaurant where an excellent a la carte menu is available. There is also the Lido Gourmet & Grill which serves buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Pale panelled corridors lead to the staterooms which at all furnished to a high level of comfort and elegance.

A cruise on board the Deutschland would be an excellent choice for passengers travelling alone or with a group of friends to discover a truly memorable experience.
